05/21/10 Westchester County Resident And US Senate Canidate Michael Sepe Speaks Out On The Global Economy And Free Trade

Senatorial Candidate Michael Sepe issued the following Statement:

America is now in a global economy without restrictions.

That is the same as having 3 billion people who make 1 dollar a day without any benefits living next door to us and asking the American people to compete with them. The net result is equalization of standards of living and quality of life. Their standards of living and quality of life will greatly improve and our standards of living and quality of life will erode quickly.

Everything we are experiencing today is the direct result of being in a global economy without our government protecting us.

This is why we have massive unemployment and we will continue to have massive unemployment.

Schumer's answer to this problem is to print money and tax everyone to death to pay people to work.

In fact, after printing over a trillion dollars we still have almost 17% of our workforce unemployed, 80% of our college graduates unemployed and 30% of our workforce underemployed. 95% of Americans have now had their lives disrupted and over 50% have seen a dramatic decline in their quality of life and standard of living.

Schumer will pass a Value Added Tax if he remains in office.

Every tax increase and every new tax imposed is just an erosion of everyone's quality of life and standard of living.

Automation, robotics and ingenuity will always cause the loss of jobs, that is why we must immediately stop the further losses of jobs to other countries.

Invention and new technology is a major source of new jobs and we must protect and invest heavily in that source.

The only way to solve our Nation's problems and preserve our standard of living is to immediately impose fair trade restrictions, make our industries globally competitive again and reclaim the jobs lost overseas.

From this day forward, America must protect every job, no matter how big or small.

Rep. KILDEE said: "All trade agreements suffer from the same fundamental flaw: They are not self-enforcing. Trade agreements depend upon vigorous enforcement, which requires official complaints be made when violations occur. I have no faith in President Bush to show any enthusiasm to enforce this agreement. Congress should not hand this administration yet another trade agreement because past agreements have been more efficient at exporting jobs than goods and services. I appeal to all Members of Congress to vote NO on this. But I appeal especially to my fellow Democrats not to turn their backs on those American workers who suffer from the export of their jobs. They want a paycheck, not an unemployment check.

Free Trade

So called Free Trade Agreements which the incumbent Republicrats and Demicans have supported have been a national disaster. The aftermath of these agreements can be seen in the form of closed and abandoned factories in every city.

The stories about job creation are just propaganda. If anyone disputes this try and find a job. Many of the people who voted for these agreements never had to work a day in their lives and they are the beneficiaries of cheap labor. In effect if you voted for the incumbent you voted to ship your job out of the country.

International Free Trade agreements often enslves people and often forces children to work in sweat shops

And because these forgien children and prison inmates work cheap - American workers can't compete with these unfair trade practices.

We muust stop unreglated free trade, because countries like China won't play fair our growing trade defict will destroy our very own ecconomy.
